North Korean leader Kim Jong Un stated that the country would not hesitate to use all available offensive forces, including nuclear weapons, if an enemy attempted to use force to encroach on its sovereignty. This statement came in response to South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol’s threat to end the North Korean regime. Kim criticized Yoon for his comments and declared that North Korea would use all its offensive forces, including nuclear weapons, if necessary.
Kim made these remarks at a training base of army special operation units, as reported by state news agency KCNA. North Korea has been pursuing a nuclear weapons program for decades and is believed to have enough materials to build numerous nuclear weapons. South Korea recently marked armed forces day with a military parade, showcasing ballistic missiles and a flypast of a U.S. bomber.
Yoon warned Pyongyang against using nuclear weapons, stating that such actions would be met with a strong response from the South Korean military and the U.S. alliance. However, Kim dismissed these warnings, stating that the DPRK’s military strength and nuclear weapons would not be taken away by enemies’ threats or actions. Kim’s comments highlight the continued tension and animosity between North and South Korea, as well as the ongoing threat of nuclear weapons in the region.
