Man critically injured in Kansas City, Kansas after crashing during KHP pursuit.

One man is in the hospital with serious injuries after a pursuit by a Kansas State Trooper resulted in a crash late Saturday night in Kansas City, Mo. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that the man was driving a 1989 Chevrolet 1500 northbound on Fairfax Trafficway when he missed a turn, hit a utility pole, and crashed into an embankment. The driver, whose current condition is unknown, was taken to a hospital for treatment. The circumstances that led to the pursuit remain unclear as the KHP has not released any information about the incident. The crash caused a resident in the area to express concern, stating that their “heart was beating outside my chest.” Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident to determine what events transpired leading up to the pursuit.
