A man drove into a mall in Killeen, Texas, on Saturday, striking multiple people with his black pickup truck. Police shot and killed the suspect after he continued driving and actively ran over people. Four individuals were hospitalized with injuries, ranging from severe to minor, while another person walked into a hospital with minor injuries. The Texas Rangers are investigating the police shooting. The injured range in age from six to 75 years old, with no reported deaths besides the suspect. Authorities stressed that there was no active shooter at the mall, as initially reported on social media. The incident began when police received a report of a possibly intoxicated driver on the highway. The driver entered the mall parking lot and crashed into a JC Penney store, prompting a police response. The public was asked to avoid the area to allow first responders and investigators to address the situation. Killeen Mall houses more than 90 retailers and is located about 67 miles north of Austin.
