A tragic three-car crash in Ray County, Missouri on Saturday night resulted in the death of a 62-year-old woman from Richmond and serious injuries to a 16-year-old girl from Polo. The crash occurred on Missouri Highway 13 north of Route HH around 9:30 p.m. when the teenager, driving a 2009 GMC Sierra, crossed the center line and collided with a southbound 2018 Ford Explorer driven by the elderly woman. A third vehicle, a 2002 Dodge Ram, hit the Explorer after the initial collision. Fortunately, the driver of the Dodge Ram was not injured.
The Missouri Highway Patrol crash report did not disclose the names of the victims involved in the tragic accident. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the teenager was transported to North Kansas City Hospital for treatment of her injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by local authorities.
