Three people were arrested in connection with the death of a good Samaritan, Paul Clifford, in Arizona last month. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department identified the three suspects as Jack Upchurch, Elmer Smith, and a 16-year-old minor. Clifford disappeared after leaving his house to help a stranger with a stranded vehicle and was later found dead near a smoldering car. The suspects were located after officials received information about their possible whereabouts. The suspects barricaded themselves in a home but eventually surrendered and were taken into custody. The sheriff’s department did not provide any information about a motive or how the suspects were connected to Clifford’s death. The suspects were booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center on felony arrest warrants, with bail set at $1 million for Upchurch, $1.025 million for Smith, and $500,000 for the minor. It is unclear if they have legal representation at this time. The exact cause and manner of Clifford’s death have not been revealed by authorities.
