Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, a nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award, has won a $35,000 prize from Nationwide Insurance to benefit his foundation, 87 & Running. This is Kelce’s second time winning the Charity Challenge award in the last five years, having previously won in 2020. The donation will help underprivileged kids in the Kansas City metro area by providing them with mentoring opportunities and motivation in areas such as STEM, business, art, and athletics.
Kelce received over 2 million votes to secure his second title, making him the first two-time winner in the program’s 10-year history. Previous Kansas City Chiefs players who have won the Charity Challenge include Tyrann Mathieu, Eric Berry, and Patrick Mahomes. The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award will be presented during the NFL Honors on FOX and NFL Network on February 6th.
