Rudy Giuliani faced a second contempt of court hearing in a defamation case involving former Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Wandrea Moss. The women’s attorney emphasized they wanted Giuliani to stop defaming them. The judge warned Giuliani about the power of his words due to his large audience. Giuliani criticized the judge before the hearing, calling it a waste of time and an example of “Biden lawfare.” Giuliani argued that his comments were not defamatory and defended his First Amendment rights. Freeman and Moss had sued Giuliani after he made claims about them while trying to help former President Trump overturn the 2020 election results. A jury awarded $146 million in damages, which Giuliani is appealing. Earlier in the week, a federal judge in New York found Giuliani in contempt for failing to comply with orders to turn over information about his assets to Freeman and Moss. Giuliani testified that valuable assets, including a signed Joe DiMaggio New York Yankees jersey, were missing, and he was conducting his own investigation.
