Rushville, Missouri man Wesley William Teague has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for a 2023 drunk driving crash that resulted in the death of a man clearing grass from a ditch in Platte County. Teague pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated and causing the death of another person after losing control of his vehicle and hitting the 33-year-old victim who was using a weedeater near the highway north of Weston. Teague had a blood alcohol content of 0.128, more than 1 1/2 times the legal limit, and admitted to consuming alcohol and marijuana before the crash. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The case was investigated by the Platte County Sheriff’s Department. This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence and the devastating consequences it can have.
