The University of Kansas has announced its athletes of the week for the week of April 7-13. Gunnar Broin from the men’s golf team was selected for shooting back-to-back 5-under 67s in the Hawkeye Invitational, leading the individual field at 10-under and helping the Jayhawks to an overall team lead. Kyoka Kubo from the tennis team was also chosen for her performance in the Sunflower Showdown victory, claiming victories in doubles and singles matches. Kubo, a Japanese sophomore, partnered with Anna Putilina to defeat Kansas State’s Veronika Kulhava and Tereza Polakova in doubles, and beat Kulhava in singles with a score of 6-2, 6-2.
