KC International Academy students were treated to a surprise visit from Sporting Kansas City players Memo Rodríguez and Jansen Miller during a regular after-school soccer practice. The players not only shared their skills on the pitch but also their personal stories and words of encouragement with the young athletes.
Both teams’ captains bonded with the Sporting KC players over their love for soccer and shared their experiences with the sport. Memo and Jansen then joined the players in training, offering tips on technique, teamwork, and resilience. The visit concluded with the professionals speaking to the students about their journeys to becoming professional players, emphasizing the importance of education, dedication, and respect.
The visit was part of an ongoing partnership between KC International Academy and The Victory Project, which aims to empower youth through soccer. The Victory Project has provided new gear for both the boys’ and girls’ teams, showcasing the potential of the academy’s soccer program. With the message of passion, discipline, and support, the students were inspired to pursue their dreams both on and off the field.
